About Stophy

Stophy is an API that returns live web data as JSON. It is built for AI agents: coding agents, research assistants and any software that reads the web as it is today.

An agent sends one POST request and gets one response with the data, the credits used and a request id. Every endpoint uses the same response format.

One key covers search, video, social posts, places, products, jobs, homes, travel, apps and public ad libraries. The sites include Google, YouTube, Reddit, TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, Amazon and Zillow.

The list grows as we add sites and endpoints. The APIs page at stophy.dev/apis shows every endpoint that is live today, and GET https://api.stophy.dev/v1/endpoints returns the same list as JSON.

Send POST /v1/<site>/<endpoint> with a JSON body and the header Authorization: Bearer <key>. The response has success, data, creditsUsed and requestId.

A list endpoint returns one page of results. To get the next page, send the cursor from the response, or the next page number.

A failed call returns an error with a code, a message that says what to do next, and a retryable flag. An agent reads the flag to decide whether to send the call again.

REST: any HTTP client. The TypeScript and Python SDKs call an endpoint by its id, such as reddit.search.

MCP: connect an agent to https://mcp.stophy.dev/mcp and sign in with your browser. The setup for each agent is at stophy.dev/mcp.

CLI: stophy <site> <command> prints markdown, or JSON with --json. The install steps are at stophy.dev/cli.

Stophy reads public data. An agent cannot log in to a site, post, comment or send messages through Stophy.

Stophy has no plans and no monthly fee. A new account has 1,000 free credits. After that you add credits and spend them one call at a time.

A call uses credits only when it returns data. A call that returns an error, a timeout or an empty list uses 0 credits.

Some endpoints also work with no account, within a free daily limit. The free tools at stophy.dev/tools run on those endpoints.
