About Stophy

Stophy is an API for AI agents that need video data. Transcripts, comments, search results, channel metadata, playlists. All structured JSON. One API key.

Every endpoint returns a consistent shape. Predictable pagination. No parsing required. Your code doesn't need to know anything about YouTube to use it.

We built Stophy because our own AI agents kept hitting the same wall. Video is where most of the good knowledge actually is. Tutorials, research, interviews, commentary. All locked in a format agents can't read. We handle the scraping and structuring so you don't have to.

The existing options were too brittle, too slow, or built for browsers rather than code. We wanted something that just works in an agent workflow.

Make a single HTTP request with your API key. Search for videos, fetch transcripts with timestamps, pull comment threads, browse channel catalogs. Every response is structured JSON ready for your agent to consume.

Credits are pay-per-use. One credit per API call. No subscriptions, no expiry, no seat limits, no monthly minimums. Buy when you need them. They stay in your account until you use them.

Stophy is built and maintained by a small team. We use our own API daily in the agents and automations we build. Every decision about response shapes, error messages, and pricing comes from actually using it in production.

We keep the API consistent. If we change a response shape, we version it so nothing breaks. We log every breaking change in the changelog.
