A web search MCP server that needs no key
Paste one command and your agent searches Google for free, up to 50 calls a day. Sign in when it needs more.
Codex uses codex mcp add stophy --url https://api.stophy.dev/mcp. Cursor takes the same URL in ~/.cursor/mcp.json.
What comes back
Ask for the TypeScript release notes and your agent calls Google search. This is a real answer, cut to one result:
Send fields with the keys you want and every result keeps only those, so a search doesn't fill your agent's context.
Free, then $0.0015 a search
The free calls stop at 10 a minute and 50 a day, first page only. For more, connect https://mcp.stophy.dev/mcp instead and sign in with your browser. New accounts start with $5 free, which is about 3,333 searches.
After that, a Google search costs $0.0015. Web search costs $0.0015 per 10 results, up to 100. Reading a page costs $0.0015, or up to $0.0075 on the hardest pages. A call that fails or finds nothing costs nothing. See pricing.
More than search
The same server reads any public page as markdown, maps a site, and asks ChatGPT or Gemini with the pages they cite. It has 137 endpoints in all, including Reddit, YouTube, Google Maps and Amazon. Your agent finds the right one with stophy_search_endpoints, which is free. Set up other clients.
