No. You send a video link to Stophy. A call works without a Stophy API key, and a free daily limit applies. Without a key the endpoint reads captions only.
With a Stophy API key, the endpoint reads the video's own audio when the video has no captions. Without a key it returns a transcript only for a video that has captions.
The words of the video in text, plus videoId, videoUrl, language and durationSeconds. isAutoGenerated tells you whether the text is automatic. transcribedSeconds is set when the words come from the audio, and it gives the length that was transcribed.
1 credit when the video has captions. Otherwise 2 credits plus 1 credit for every 10 seconds of audio, up to 3 minutes. A call that returns an error or an empty transcript uses 0 credits.
Set includeTimestamps to true. The response then splits the speech into segments. Each segment has startSeconds, endSeconds and text.
